Practice Manager (Bookkeeping/CFO Firm)
Location: Langley, BC (200 St / 56 Ave) Hybrid
Reporting to: Director of Accounting (DoA)
- Transcounts is a fast-growing accounting firm based in Langley, BC. We specialize in outsourced bookkeeping, fractional Controller/CFO, payroll, and tax services to small and mid-sized businesses across Canada and the USA.
- The Practice Manager oversees delivery for 30–50 small bookkeeping clients, ensuring smooth, accurate F&A operations and a strong customer experience. You’ll handle client communication, manage bookkeeping/AP/AR/sales tax/reporting, and maintain Transcounts standards and tech stack.
- You’ll lead a remote team of 8–12 bookkeepers, focusing on oversight, quality, insights, meetings, and client outcomes. All client meetings fall under your ownership.
- With strong performance across 40+ clients and a 10+ member team, you can grow into the Fractional Controller/CFO track. eCommerce experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery & Quality
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly bookkeeping, AP/AR, sales tax filings, and year-end preparation.
- Own the client experience end-to-end, strengthening communication and trust.
Team Collaboration
- Lead quality oversight across your client portfolio.
- Hold bookkeepers and reviewers accountable for SOPs and Quality Checklists.
Customer Experience
- Improve documentation flow, banking access, and communication channels.
- Represent clients confidently in standard CRA/IRS reviews (non-audit escalations).
Onboarding
- Own onboarding for assigned clients with PL support where needed and ensure the tech stack is configured correctly from day one.
Internal Rhythm
- Record all client meetings (unless client declines).
- Save meeting notes in ClickUp for team visibility.
- Daily/weekly async updates with bookkeepers/reviewers.
Path to Fractional Controller/CFO:
- You may begin progressing into Controller/CFO responsibilities once you demonstrate:
- Management of 40+ monthly clients and a 10+ member team
- Strong technical mastery + excellent delivery
Must have (skills, requirements, and knowledge):
- Comfortable for Hybrid/On-site at Langley, BC (200 St / 56 Ave)
- CPA or equivalent
- CRA Rep Account & Ability to handle CRA/IRS reviews independently
- Worked in Public Practice for a minimum of 2+ years - preferably for a Fractional CFO/Controller/BIG-4s.
- Must have been in Canada for the past 1+ year.
- QBO/XERO experience for 2+ years.
- Canada/USA Payroll Experience & Compliance/Nexus (GST/Sales-tax, WCB, EHT) experience for 1+ year.
- Excellent Team Management Skills, and worked with FT3+ team members.
- Must have independently owned a month-end close (w/visual management reports) for at least 10+ entities.
- Ecommerce - Amazon, Shopify, A2X, inventory, COGS, multi-channel - (Strongly Preferred)
The Interview Process:
- 20-minute phone screening with HR.
- 30-minute Virtual Interview with Anmol Singh (Director of Operations).
- Final Round of interview with Aman Mittal (CEO & Founder) onsite in Langley, BC.
